Turmeric Face Mask

So recently I have had a chance to somewhat relax. I came back to MN to visit family and friends and I have had the chance to clear up my skin. For a year now my skin has been breaking out due to the stress that I have been undergoing. This is my first year I actually had to sit down and evaluate what was causing it to break out and what I should change in my routine.

There could be a number of contributing factors to my breakouts including the products I use on my hair. I have researched ways to naturally get rid of breakouts and stay blemish free. My favorite so far has been my turmeric mask because it's a natural product, doesn't require time and leaves my skin better every time I use it.

Turmeric mask is used in India as a pre-wedding ritual for the groom and bride. It is applied to the entire body to achieve a brighter, more clear complexion.

From what I've read you are suppose to include graham flour in the ingredients but I do not have graham flour in my kitchen so I use what I have. I have chosen these ingredients due to the benefits they give to the skin.

You will need the following ingredients:
*I usually make a large batch and store it in the refrigerator to use throughout the week. I do not have exact amounts.

-Turmeric
-1 tsp of Lemon Juice
-3 tsp of Organic Plain Yogurt
(I chose organic yogurt because regular yogurt could contain hormones, which can cause the skin to break out if one is sensitive)

Mix the ingredients until you get a think paste, at this point you can add more turmeric if you feel it is not thick enough.

Step 1:
Wash and cleanse your face before applying the mask.

Step 2:
Slowly apply the mask and scrub a thin layer onto the skin for a gentle exfoliation.

Step 3:
Keep applying the mask until you get a thick equal distribution throughout your face.

Step 4:
Wait until the mask has hardened (usually takes 20 minutes) then wash off.
*Turmeric can temporarily dye the area you are washing in so make sure you are not splashing the water (I usually wash it off in the shower).

Step 5:
Make sure to wash it off completely, It has tendency to leave coloring behind if it is not washed thoroughly.

Enjoy soft beautiful skin!
